SLU is starting a data science club, and the first meeting is Monday, March 5 at 3:30 PM in Ritter Hall 334. At our first meeting, we will discuss a current kaggle competition of predicting outcomes of the mens and womens NCAA basketball tournaments.  See for more detials.
SLU CS and Statistics professors David Letscher, Kevin Scannell and Darrin Speegle will walk beginners through getting their first couple of submissions done, and we will also talk about more advanced ideas for those with more experience. For this meeting, it will be helpful if you know some R or python, and you should definitely bring your laptop. There is a total of $100,000 in cash prizes available for the winning teams!
If you are interested in this club, please join us Monday, March 5 at 3:30 PM in Ritter Hall 334.
