Presentations for MATH 6980-16, covering Chapter II of Thom's famous 1954 paper on cobordism.  Click "More info" to download.

Question:  When is a homology class represented by a submanifold?

Chirasree Chatterjee will present why the set of Equation (7) is a basis for the (k+m)-cohomology modulo 2 of MO(k) when m <= k.

This cohomological algebra is the most technical and hardest part of the seminar's material, involving specialized counting of non-dyadic variables.

For continuity, here is a link to the previous talk.
