Objective: Check angle sum formulas and learn to tessellate with quadrilaterals
Materials needed: Protractor, one triangle, one convex quadrilateral, one non-convex quadrilateral.
- Measure the three angles of the triangle. What are they? What is their sum?
- Meausre the four angles of the convex quadrilateral. What are they? What is their sum?
- Create a tessellation using the convex quadrilateral.
- Measure the four angles of the non-convex quadrilateral. What are they? What is their sum?
- Create a tessellation using the non-convex quadrilateral.
Make more quadrilateral tessellations using this Java applet.
Handin: A sheet with answers to all questions.
